ETS V2 Quiet Quiet CBE vs Tomei Expreme Titanium CBE
Hey guys, I've been itching like a junkie for a new mod and decided with the Tomei Expreme Single Exit Titanium Exhaust. I currently have the ETS V2 Quiet CBE which I love, but I think it's time for a change.
The ETS sounds awesome IMO. And i love the Dual Exit look. However, It's heavy as S**T. It weighs ~36lbs. I read great reviews on it before the purchase and somehow overlooked the weight. But now, I want something lighter and NEWER The Tomei weighs in at ~9.6lbs and that alone makes me boner. That, and it sounds amazing and is an awesome looking piece I really didn't like the SE (Single Exit) look on the X. But with a ~27lb weight savings over my ETS V2 Quiet and almost ~34lbs weight saving vs stock, I'm going to make the sacrifice in the looks department. Hopefully the sound, power, and weight savings will outweigh the great looks of the ETS. My previous thoughts were that the SE exhausts look a little bit Ricey. But it's definitely growing on me. And there's nothing ricey about the way this Ti growls I weighed the Tomei up and the muffler was ~4.7lbs while the other two pieces together weighed about the same at ~4.8lbs. Plus adding the hanger piece and bolts etc of ~.5lbs. So the actual exhaust weighs ~9.9-10lbs. In comparison, JUST the muffler of the ETS V2 Quiet weighs ~23.6lbs. That's over 2 times the weight of the full Tomei Ti. The other pipe weighs ~12lbs, plus the clamp and a couple bolts of ~.25lbs. This exhaust weighs in on my scale @ ~36lbs, which is also what Michael at ETS stated the weight for this exhaust was. I did notice ONE thing, however, with the Tomei. It looks like the mid pip (The longest pipe that bolts up to the cat) tapers down to a 72-75mm flange. I'm not very excited about this as i read it was full 80mm all the way through. In fact very disappointed. Sure, it matches up with the stock cats inner diameter but is 5-8mm smaller than my high flow cat that I'm going to install. Im calling Tomei and MAP on Monday regarding this. At minimum, this needs to be in the description so that people know what they're buying. I found another thread regarding this, and basically, it put me at ease. This exhaust saves a ton of weight. And it's dyno numbers are as good or better than any other exhaust out there. So apparently this little hiccup doesn't rob much power (1-2whp?) Pros vs Cons (Tomei Ti) Pros: - Extremely Light - Sounds Awesome - High Quality Piece - Price (Just under $1,000) - Straight through design Cons: - Large pipe tapers to 72-75mm (WTF) - It seems weaker than the steel ETS V2 Quiet and I've heard that under high heat it (Titanium) gets weak Overall, I'd give this exhaust a 9/10. If it didnt taper down to 72-75mm where connecting to the cat i would've given it a 10/10. Here are some pics of the new Tomei exhaust and a video that compares how the two sound. Also, during the install, I removed the springs. They were already rattling on first start up. ![]() ![]() ![]() And here is a video comparing the two:

I currently have the v2 quiet and was really curious what the Tomei hype was all about. Great comparison video, thank you for making it!

I just looked up the weight specs on the ETS website for the following:
V2 = 40lbs V2 quiet = 40lbs V2 Extreme = 50lbs They must have fucked up the weight of the extreme right? How can the version that has no cat and no mufflers weigh more than the other two by a full 10lbs?? I would expect the extreme version to be more likely 10lbs lighter not heavier..
