The other issue with the taper is the flange is a lot smaller.. So this becomes a sealing issue as well.. I have the exhaust and I actually bought material to have the taper removed.

This is when it is bolting up to the stock cat?

no they designed it to be a direct bolt onto the stock cat.. The problem arises when one buys a HFC or a TP. The flange on them is a true 3 inch so it has a very very small contact surface to seal against.

Great review! I'm torn between the two exhaust systems and this thread has really helped especially with the back to back sound clips in the video.

Oh that's weird. I guess if you use there TP you'd be fine.

That's correct but thats because it also bottle necks.. terrible design IMO.
