EF3 Rickerman Tuned - Review/Experience

So finally after ordering and getting all my parts in I had absolutely no clue who to go to for tuning. ( Especially since I wasn't THAT satisfied with my previous tune from ForceFed in Fayettville, NC ) I look around on the forums a good bit and always see tons and tons of people were tuned by E-Tuners. When it comes to tuning I think I have to be one of the dumbest out there and no absolutely nothing about it so I was worried about E Tuning and getting stuck after I've paid and not knowing what to do next, what if they don't reply to my messages, so many different things running through my head.

I finally decide to take a swing in the dark and literally just decided to go with who I've seen more good things talked about ( ChetRickerman ) . So a few days before I finish my installation I shoot him a text, send over my mod list and payment so he could begin creating my basemap. When I finish up the install I give him a call, because I'm obviously clueless on what to do now. He talks me through step by step and answers any questions I had instantly without hesitation.

A few days in to dialing the DW1000s in my wideband is completely off in Evoscan. Him and Rich try to figure out the formula and get that situation fixed so it can be right and ready for when we start WOT. After trying multiple definitions I finally just tell him don't worry about it, i'll get a serial cable and we'll try that way so he doesn't have to keep messing with the formula. I get that all wired up and it's working perfectly.

After the injectors are scaled we started WOT. My foot had itching like crazy and I just wanted to push it through the freaking floor board, along with my girl begging me to "go fast". After ONE revision, I already knew I had made the right decision for who I went to for tuning. After a few more it really just started to become breath taking and I just didn't think it could get any better.

So we finally finish up after 2 days of non stop WOT. I live beside a extremely long straight road, so I'd have the logs sent to him within about 4 minutes and he'd have me a revision within another 10 minutes. Really the only thing I can say is just "Wow". I couldn't have asked for anything better. The most awesome customer support from him (he'd be answering phone calls at 12:00 midnight where I had questions) The guy works his ass off (was receiving revisions throughout the whole day up til 1:00 in the morning) . And in the end, my car pulls like a freaking train all the way through 4th.

Below is my mod list, along with the dyno sheets. One is my 93 tune, and the other my E85 tune. We couldn't do much but add a little timing with E85 because my injectors started be maxed out at only 28psi. But none the less, I'm completely happy and satisfied.

definitely something up with the very end of your HP curves...either you hit a dip in the road, clutch slip, etc.

Yep, my thoughts exactly and you have some fuel issues on E85 up top too, just like a lot of us do.

The curve is for sure inflated quite a bit at the end, but none the less looks fun.

Also, if you added some timing to the E85 map, why is the midrange torque significantly higher in the 93 oct map?

I doubt it really is, I think this is a case of how inconsistent VD can be at times.

If used perfectly as intended it will work but this is why a dyno is still a great tool. I am sure if you ran both tunes on an actual dyno you would see results that make sense.

true. maybe the OP can take a few runs of each map for better comparison

It's stock block. Chet probably left peak tq timing similar between maps to keep it safe.
