Nitto Motivos?

Has anyone tried these? I'm looking for a tire that will perform well in the summer but also can handle itself in rainy conditions and perhaps even snow. I work 45 minutes from home and being in CO you never know when you can get caught in a snow storm. I don't plan to use the Evo in winter conditions regularly, however I don't want to be SOL if I get in a situation where I need to be able to get from work to home in snow conditions. I also don't like the softness of the sidewall on something like the DWS. Bonus is these have a 60,000 mi warranty which I believe is the longest warranty offered on any tire currently and a tread life rating of 560. Anyways, just curious if anyone has tried them on this platform and what they think.

Some reviews:

PS - I'll have brand new oem tires and wheels for sale with less than probably 20 miles on them at the end of the month (car is set to arrive the 29th) if anyone is interested

They are ok for just about all driving conditions. They will be a terrible performance tire. For reference try and steer clear of nitto tires. There are much better tires out there.

There is no summer tire that handles well in the snow.

Doesn't have to handle well in snow really. But if I need to be able to get home in an inch of snow id like to be able to without wrecking a 40k car. If I know it's going to snow I'll take my Jeep but there are times when you never know. Really they'd need to be able to handle slush.

99 out of 100 times the car is driven it'll be in nice weather. I just don't wanna be fucked for the other 1 day if I get caught in something. And the dws with the super soft sidewalls would be sacrificing too much imo. Any other recommendations then?

As for a performance tire that handles well in the rain its gonna be hard to beat the michelin pilot super sports. It has 30000 mile warrenty. That is pretty high for a high permormance summer tire. They are the benchmark for grip untill you get into R compounds.

Waste of a tire on an Evo. Shame on you.

Nitto NT01's are fantastic tires.

NOT recommended for cold weather, snow or ice:

"While Pilot Super Sport tires are designed to allow sports cars, sporty coupes, performance sedans and supercars to achieve their full potential in dry and wet conditions, like all summer tires they are not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice."

I'm still skeptical and waiting for more tests to show up and compare it to Extreme performance summer tires. Highly doubt it will turn up faster autocross times than RS3's, Ecsta XS's, Star Specs, or AD08's.

how do folks with 1989 honda civics do it? well they just take it carefully. My mom drives a passat and my sister a camary, both drive in frequent snow and do fine. The only way you crash is if you hit ice or you dont know how to drive carefully.

Otherwise most of us would say get something like a Conti DWS or DW. I would run a PSS or similar tire personally with a dedicated set.

You dont put anything but less than the best on an evo, when it comes to tires....Its just a waste of the entire car otherwise.
