Whats the truth behind in tank fuel pump upgrades?

So I am at the point where I need more fuel on my 12 MR. I remember when I did this before on my 10 GSR it was just as much as a headache to figure out what path I want to go. Last time I had a Walbro 255 with the BLAQOPS kit. Had some issues with the housing return line cracking but I think that was just dumb luck and the guys at BLAQOPS were really helpful in trying to address the issue.

So now there is a DW300 pump on the market that was not around last time I did this that looks great. But I am hearing mixed reviews from reading on here about pumps over heating and going lean yada yada yada.

So is this just paranoia or are the DW300 pumps really junk? I do not mind going back to the 255 Walbro (Still have a new one in the box) with a new BLAQOPS kit but if I can get more fuel out of the DW300 with the MAP kit to go with the 1300 injectors I have even better.

Thoughts anyone?

Oh and I do track the car on the road course 6-10 times a year so pump failure / going lean is a big deal to me and I do not have super high HP plans for the car. 375-400 max E85 and 91 when E85 is not available.

We have been seeing a lot of failures with those pumps when using E85 because of the higher water content than gasoline. I would suggest using the Walbro 485lph E85 pump. It's compatible with gasoline and E85 and flows more than enough for pretty much any setup. That being said, it is a good bit larger than the 255s or the DW300s so you will have some fabrication to do with the basket when you install it.

Does anyone offer a install kit for this pump? Fabricating something does not sound fun considering I know how annoying that basket can be to work with.

Talk to MAP, they put my wally 400 in my tank, they can get you any parts needed and Nick there should be able to help with install I am sure or at least point you in the right direction.

I'm happy with my aem 320. Simple install with a map kit and not too expensive. I'm running it on e-85 without any issues. IMO switching to a wally 255 is stupid when the stocker flows about 250lph...

the stocker doesn't flow 250lph, it flows 225lph and acctually the WB255 is just as good as the DW265 they have been tested and both pump around 260lph.

the only problem I find with the WB is the car takes a few seconds to start.
