cool that your dad would do something like that for you, its just to bad that a tire shop wouldnt recognize the tires already on your car and understand you know wtf you want mounted under it. instead of them offering up a set thats been on their shelf for so long they had to get rid of them.

I just switched from stock advans to conti dws so I sort of know what you are feeling with the softer sidewall.

It's a real nice gesture from your dad, and you obviously know it is, but guys at tire shops typically don't know dick about tires. They think a high performing all season is a great tire, and have no idea what a real performance tire feels like.

they're two completely different class of tire. Hell, Hankook makes the RS3 and the v12 - they're obviously not the same category of tire

most of the v12 hate is bad research/expectations. v12's are definitely a good high-mileage/pure DD tire option. OP should quit thinking about how much worse performing they are and be glad he's covered on tires for ~60k. Good dad that should be thanked regardless

good dd tires meaning you turn left/right below 30mph? if so yes. but my daily commute is 22 miles of canyon and the hours i leave for work (leave house by 10am) allows me to have some fun. well, i used to. now with these tires, i'm scurred. i hate this air suspension feeling. already racked up 500 miles so it's broken in too.

the sidewall is too mush for my taste.

how did you manage with these tires at the track?? i'm trying to get used to the sidewall but man, even at 40-50mph the car feels so unstable (on turns). i'm no where near good at driving but still. with the nt05, i felt so confident through every corner.
