I also use the spline drives. Any tuner style lug with the correct thread pitch should be fine. I would recommend the mcgard though because the paint on rpf1's is incredibly thin and easy to scrape...

Did you guys try loosening or removing the manifold nuts? It'll let you guys tilt the manifold up a little bit just to get that last bit of wiggle to get turbine housing studs to clear.
