Grimmspeed EBCS Testing On The Evo X

So I had a chance to test the new Grimspeed 3-port Electronic Boost Control Solenoid on a Evo X MR this weekend. I want to thank Smanders for all the new logs and the time for testing. Here are some logs to show how it well it works!

I think this unit works very well to plug right into the stock harness and be able to control boost from the stock ecu!

One would think you would post a smoother boost chart to show "how good it works" no?

looks "smooth" to me. remember that this is with the stock BOV and WGA you cant expect perfection...

First I want to thank Kasey for his work on Saturday. It was a fun day...but long drive home....at 2:00 am

I'm doing some more logging and reading. I would like to get the boost a little smoother. But wow, I have not felt a turbo keep pulling like this in the high RPM range. It is sweeeeeeet. I'll post some more logs soon.

Would an aftermarket WGA really help smooth out the curve? How high is the stock BOV rated? I think I should be able to handle 25 PSI no problem.

Thanks for your input.

I take it this is set up in a "Bleed" configuration instead of interupt?

I am still on stock actuator and stock bov, hitting 31psi.

From what I hear the BOV is a crapshoot though as to what it will hold.

I did tighten down my WGA though, man does it suck to do by hand.

needs a Forge WGA. I hit 26psi and it's SMOOTH all the way to redline with my GM 3-port, although tapering to 20psi as expected.

If the graph was stretch out like a dyno sheet it would be a lot smoother! But if you take a look at the chart below the graph you can see that it is trying to hold the boost and not fall off like a manual bc! The boost does move around but with logging with mode 23 you can see a whole lot more!

I don't think it looks too bad, its sometimes tough to tell from the look of graphs, all that matters is that it drives well.

Kasey, finally getting your hands on the X's? Is jordan still doing them too?

I was the guy picking up my cosworth cams in the Red Evo X a month ago or so, we talked for a bit out front of MAP.

This wasn't the MR you guys are beasting out was it?
