Clutch noise -Not Slipping

I know there are too many threads about people's clutches slipping, but my problem isn't engagement, it is just noise..

When I depress the clutch, I get a bit of a spongy feel and hear a sqeak/squeal, kind of like you would hear/feel if you compressed a spring. My Evo has a bit over 34k miles, so yes, the clutch is probably starting to go, but it is still perfectly fine and engages at all rpms/speeds when it's supposed to. This has been progressively getting worse/louder and I don't want to be wearing down my clutch/flywheel/etc any more than they are already being worn from daily use.

I am guessing that something needs to be better lubricated, but I don't know what to grease up .. any helpful suggestions are appreciated!

Mine makes the same sounds at close to 20k. I don't think it's the clutch though, I think it's the master cylinder.

crap ... that would explain the pastic-y feel I have with my clutch! =/

bone stock car though, so they better cover any problems under the "warranty" .. haha, sorry, I had to laugh at myself for thinking they'll cover a "wear item" under warranty

its your CMC like the other guy said. and yeah they will cover it. The reps only come down for items over 500 dollars that are drive train related not including labor and the CMC is under 5 I believe.

so basically, I should have complained about it today while I was at the dealership and tried to get them to replace it? or is this something I have to wait for it to break before they will consider replacement?

gotta wait for it to break but you should bring it to your service writers attention so that when you come back in he remembers you and your issue.

Could also be your tranny case...my car made a little bit of a squeel that sounded differently when engaging the clutch and it ended up being that. Best thing to do is take it in to Mitsu and have them diagnose the problem instead of speculating and since your car is bone stock should be no issue warranty wise with whatever they do find as the problem. They fixed my t-case under warranty thankfully cause it cost ~$3,800 and I have a few mods which they were fine with since it was unrelated...GL!

Should buy the Magnus Evo 9 adapter and an evo 9 CMC (Can get on as a set from FredBeansParts). And then when it fails have the dealership install that part instead.

I don't get any whines with it .. just had mitsu change the transfer case oil today, I think they could have seen something wrong if there was anything there while doing the fluid change
