So I’m looking to see if any of you may have a passenger side axle laying around with this picture metal housing thing that covers the axle seal so it doesn’t leak. If anyone has it I’m willing to pay for it plus shipping. Mitsubishi doesn’t sell it by itself instead as a cv repair kit that’s $560, new axle is $700 and even a used axle is like $200. Think it’s a lot for this simple piece I’m missing hoping one of you can hook me up, thanks.
Super late reply, but thanks for the reply. Dust shield, sounds way better than metal thing. But, nonetheless the first time I reinstalled the axle back without the dust shield it leaked, could be that I might have pushed it too far in (like I’ve read in some other threads, causing it to leak), but I wasn’t sure if it was necessary to prevent leaking.
I am in the same spot. What ended up being the best way to replace it?
