Thanks all. I'm itching to get this on the track. Curious now about diffs and if this is a path I should consider going. Any experience to comment?

Acceleration is traction limited. I need stickier or wider tires for the level of power currently in the car. Prefer wider as much stickier approaches race rubber and loses some safety in the rain.

I would like to go to an 18x9.5 +22 with 265's, and save some weight doing it.

My wife got my some Volk G25 18x9.5 +22 for Christmas! I'll be putting some sticky rubber on them and have some fun this summer. I'll get some pictures once they are on the car.

You aren't spinning RE71 tires in 4th with 450whp. Maybe in the rain, and even then doubtful.

450wtq Evos don't even spin all season tires in 4th gear.

Come on now.

He may have driven through an oil slick. Or maybe someone was a bit overzealous with the tire wet.

All joking aside, I love my SST, and I will always confront people who talk undue shit on them, but I dont think the SST has the clamping force required to spin tires in 4th gear. Until I see a video, the most likely scenario is you were spinning the clutch.

Even GSR's won't do it. 4th gear is 60-70 mph 4-5k which is right around peak torque depending on turbo. Ain't gonna happen.

Anybody that has been around Evos for long enough knows this is a fantasy.

I've driven a car that burns the tires off in 4th gear at 110 to 125 mph. A 725 rwhp supercharged V8.

right, that is 2WD and I'm assuming more than 500wtq.

Still not going to happen in a full time AWD vehicle with 450wtq.

Traction light flashed, it was a bummer. In any case, I am definitely traction limited by the tires as they are. They are actually RE-11, my mistake above. Less sticky than RE-71, but still a decent tire. 3 years old may have contributed.

What track events you plan to do this year? Our cars are very similar.
