Running laps at the NC Center for Automotive Research, I got about 6.7 miles/gallon.

If I started a lap session with a full tank of gas, everything was OK.
If I didn't fill up before the next lap session, the fuel supply would get below half a tank, and I'd eventually have a lap where the big left-hand sweeper pulled the gas away from the pickup and the engine would stutter a few seconds later on the front straight.


I never thought fuel would be such a hassle on the track, of all places.

With mostly highway driving I average 25-26 mpg when I baby (55-60 mph) my 08 GSR. Mostly stock with a very mild tune

Its a common problem on the track. A lot of guys install a surge tank or a double pump hanger to help out with that.
