Tial QRJ with AEM Intake

I'm considering getting a Tial QRJ BOV or diverter valve (whatever you want to call it) and I have an AEM intake. WTF tells me that there isn't enough room in the stock location because of the strut tower bar. They suggest I cut the stock BOV hose and put it next to the airbox and on the intake pipe, put a 1-1/4" joiner to connect the hose to the intake pipe.

Has anyone else done this already? 1-1/4" sound like the right size pipe to use?

The AEM intake system puts the BOV in a weird spot, that's for sure

I bought the QRJ from WTF and installed it as WTF suggested. It didn't fix my shudder problem which turned out to be a tiny little thing in my tune. Once that was fixed, I tried my stock BOV again and it works fine. The QRJ definitely reacts faster and provides a slightly smoother ride. With a bigger turbo, a big valve like this is a must.

So, I'm selling the QRJ if anyone is interested. I can't post it for sale here yet because of the rules so I have it on evom right now.

The QRJ is a little larger than OEM or Synapse but it fits in the stock location with a AEM intake. It is a little close to the hood but it fits. It probably fits best with a MAP or AMS intake.

BTW, this valve was recommended to me by Chet Rickerman. It is really nice but I decided to sell it.

That is correct. I had to slightly cut the OEM rubber hose to make the QRJ fit (which I wouldn't recommend) when I had the AEM. Everytime I got into boost it would snap back and hit the strut bar.

Eventually swapped it out for the AMS intake which relocates it.
