I bought my Evo X in September of 2018 and looking to make more power into it. I learned a couple things but I’m still new to it. I will have roughly $4,000 to $4,500 budget to get it as far as I can. I was looking to see what y’all recommend? I’ve already added a cold air intake and previous owner put on a bov. I’d appreciate all the help I can get bros

You could probably go as far as full bolt ons, an ATP turbo kit, and tuning with that budget man

For each mod that changes the airflow you need to get tuned or risk HUGE problems!
Always better off doing everything at once.

You have a few options.
Buy all the Bolton’s, install them and drive like a grandma without boosting to a reputable tuner. Or do a remote tune? Or
Drop off your car and let the tuner do everything.

Do you have a tune? Find a good tuner first and get a tune. Get a wideband and boost gauge. Find out what type of software the tuner supports. Cobb AP is decent for minor bolt-ons. If you ever plan on going past bolt-ons later you are better off with Open Source. It all depends on your goals not that those goals won't change over time but, try to set a realistic goal within your budget. Save up extra funds cause things can come up. Good luck with your build.

Let me know which direction you went with your Evo and what kind of numbers you put down. I've got my Evo X over at kozmic right now having the engine built and I've taken similar mods so I'm hoping for around 450 to 500 whp on the Garrett 3576R. Always exciting to see a building progress.

I’d highly recommend an e-tuner rather than English Racing if you don’t want to be underwhelmed. Chet Rickerman, Christian Muna, both people I’ve interacted with and provide pretty affordable e-tuning, and who both know how to squeeze more power than ER. ER feels like an OTS tune more often than not. I know they once made barely 500 on a 6466 lmao.

Idk. I’m running 440whp on pump in the same area as devin on a MHI 18k. 510 e85. There are plenty of pump gas 6466 Evo X’s pushing over 500 safely. His car “blew” because of valve damage because he was using 2-step every second he could. I also have had very bad experiences with English Racing working on my head then it mysteriously dropping a valve. You can ask for their rep around other tuners and they’ll tell you they’re a very shady bunch. Just be careful.
