Thumbs up *OFFICIAL* Accident/Crash Help Thread

As I’m sure many of you guys know, Ken (aka kge0003) has a lot of useful knowledge about automobile accident damage & claims. Well, he approached me wanting to help those on here involved in collisions even more so. After some discussion with the other staff & Ken, we have decided that he deserves his own stickied thread where those needing such help can obtain information.

So, for those unfortunately involved in an accident or situation in which their Evo X has been damaged, Ken & this thread are here to help you. Basically, you guys can either post your story/question in this thread or link to your pre-existing thread. Ken will then try & help you guys out. Others should of course feel free to post responses as you would in a “normal” thread about someone’s accident.

Thank you very much Ken for helping out on here! It is much appreciated.

Okay well I'll start. Here's my thread: https://www.evoxforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=47734

Current situation: the estimate has been increased from $7000 to $10,000 after taking the car apart and seeing that the suspension needs to be replaced. I was very concerned about whether my car would be okay or not if it did not receive repairs using a jig setup which is ideal. Ken has been helping me since day 1 (and I'm all the way in Buffalo, NY!). He has been excellent in answering all my countless questions. Today I received the updated estimate from the collision shop and I emailed it to Ken who then did a thorough analysis, line-by-line of the repairs. Again, I cannot thank you enough for all the help and advice you've given me during this stressful time!

My Evo crashed the front end, and I need all the parts. Where can I buy those all together in a good price?

is it out of pocket or is you're insurance going to pay for it? what year is the car? bring to a body shop with good reputation and they should be able to inspect your car and order all the parts you need. Tell them you want OEM parts and to show you the receipt. Some body shops tend to buy aftermarkets to save money
