Heat management is for sure a problem on any setup you choose, as they are all sandwiched between the motor and firewall. I’m pretty biased in supporting the AMS kit, but only because I have not seen any other kit out there that is as complete as the one they offer.

Yes its expensive, but I believe its worth it as they have heat management covered along with the little bits that will save your butt in the long run.
Comparing other kits to the level of precision they have put together for the Evo platform is fruitless as they have for the most part thought of everything you need, and the best part of it all is that it was tested not on a dyno, not on public roads, not for the daily driver, but for the track whore that wants to beat the piss out of it without worry that a bolt will fly off, or some hoses will melt.

I would just fix your stock turbo, or invest in a stock frame turbo, maybe look into a BBX lite of BBX Full (My First turbo upgrade). Keep the ported mani, and AMS DP, and call it a day. When the time comes, next year or even a couple years down the line and want more power, reliability, ease of access, etc. Then move into the realm of T3 kits and seriously consider what you are getting for your money.

Your stressing too much over heat management when a solution is in front of you. If your going T3, then go with AMS. If not, then I would highly suggest a BBX lite or Full, keeping everything else the same.

Boom… your done.

p.s.

90% of Evo drivers dont heavily track there cars. Heck maybe even 95% dont heavily track. Im not talking about the 5-6 track days a year guys. Im talking about the 15+ like yourself.

p.p.s

If you dont like what i had to say, go be like ortho and by yourself a N/A Prius....
i meant toyota

no..no.noo..

Subaru... yeah thats it.. Subaru. Go buy one of those.
