Car stuck in 2nd gear today

I was driving in s-sport manual mode this morning. First I dropped my son off at school and then I headed to work. About 6 miles into my drive I stopped at a light and noticed my gear shifter said 2. I proceeded to turn right and I could not change the gear out of 2, so I pulled into the nearest subdivision to see if I could do anything and nothing I did while the car was running worked, I put the car back in normal mode and auto and I decided to shut it off and turn it back on. It started back up and it shifter normal again, and I left it in normal automatic mode while I drove to work. First time I recall this ever happening. I didn't get any service light on the dash, is this a sign of something bad is about to happen or could it have simply been a software glitch? My car has fairly low mileage, I think close to 35-38,000.

When was the last time you changed the fluid and filter?

Also, how hard do you drive it, and how often.

I am no SST expert, but all that I've seen with issues usually pertains to shift magnet errors and usually 4th gear.

I only drive it to work and home. It's a 2011 and it has fairly low miles.

I changed the trans fluid and filter the first time at 24,000 miles and I'm right around 37,000 miles now. I used official diaqueen fluid.

I did change the filter once by itself maybe 7,000 miles ago.

I don't drive it very hard, never dragged it or tracked it. Should I change it at 40,000?

It has not happened since the 31st.
