I'm surprised this thread is still going. It's a time consuming project but if you take your time it comes out great. Plus it's a good learning experience too. Just don't hold heat on the boards too long or you will fry it

My suggestion is not to use anything over 400mcd. I think anything higher than that would be too bright. Also, everything was rated at 20mA.
Thanks for the info and LED sizes!

All I have are 0603's so i'll have to order some of the others. I'm pretty good at soldering after doing plenty of custom game consoles.
I also "make 'em fit". I use to make regular 0603s right angle mounted.

No problem. This forum has helped me so much, I'm happy to give back.

Bumping this because I just bought a ton of LEDs (and some resistors to turn off my airbag light) and I'm curious how the LEDs have been working out for those of you that did this mod. Did you guys have any LEDs burn out or are they still going strong?

No burnout. Everything still works and looks great for me.

Honestly, this would be a good winter project... if the Evo wasn't my winter vehicle.

Plus, I can't decide between the blue or the white for my OB. Both look awesome.

I guess I didn't show it, but I used blue for the Recirc., AC, and Defrost LEDs. With everything else white, it matches the dash very well.
