Evo IX wheels/tires on an X?

Hi all I figured I would ask here because I currently own a 2006 Evo IX racecar that I have a full set of snowtires mounted on the factory IX wheels.

Last week I purchased a 2014 Evolution X GSR, and I'm just curious if any 17" wheel will clear the X front brakes? I'd love to take my Blizzaks on 17x8's already and slap them on the new ride.

I think there is very few 17 rims that will clear the brakes, so most likely no, but try anyways and report back Also, why do you have a racecar with snow tires on?

I bought the car new back 2006 and it was a daily until it was paid off. Snow tires were left over from those days.

Gotcha. So I guess they are just laying around now, since car is probably track prepped.

Ha, I went straight to Drag section of the forum and scrolled through 5 or 6 threads till I saw this image. I know Darksun is into Drag racing and seems like wheels are there for weight savings.

Umm... I just read somewhere that those wheels didn't fit over the oem X brembo's? Something about someone named "e-spec" having to switch out to 8/9 brembo's and then put those wheels on?
So +1 for me too! I'd like to see if the IX wheels fit over our current gen brakes?
