K&N Filter + MAF... Any issues

Anyone have any issues with their MAF crapping out with a K&N filter? Mainly after cleaning and respraying/oiling the filter.

Indeed. HKS is known for many more MAF issues than K&N. The K&N issues are like you said, after people clean and over oil them. Oil will get on the maf and screw it. Due to this and the fact that I (used to) have an oiled filter (WORKS) I got some MAF cleaner in case the MAF got oiled and it went limp mode. It never did though.

Alright sounds good... I think I am going to pick up a K&N to replace my AEM Dry flow... Because no matter what I do to clean the AEM, it stays black and I can never see any light through it..

15k miles on mine. Cleaned and oiled it 3 or 4 times now and never an issue. I've been running the same filter on the Outlander too.

I just replaced mine with a new one at 9000 miles. That was the dirtiest air filter I have ever seen. Ill spend 40 bucks for a new cone filter every 6-8 months, no biggy. I tried cleaning them on my cobalt, but felt i didnt do it right. Either was under soaking or over soaking when putting new oil on, so I just decided id buy them pre oiled and call it a day.

No problems here. We provide KN filters with all of our intakes and never had an issue.

Thanks guys. Just wasnt to sure as I know the MAF can be picky and have heard of issues with them crapping out with the K&N filters from the oil.
