Need advise

So yes just bought a used tranny today, after the pins blew my old one 1 month ago. just got two question. Im goin to upgrade the pins at iveytune before putting it back in the car is there any other thing that i need to do? I want to be safe! And my other question is $1600 for a 19k used tranny is good price? Thank

1. does ivey also upgrade the lubrication mechanism for the pins? I know one of the shops here does stronger pins and also puts scoops on the assembly to ensure better lubrication.
2. Sounds like a decent price.

Umm that i dont know if he do the lubricatin scoops i know jackt do it but is to far i waste all my money buying the tranny cant affort shippins and shit now but im calling ivey to find out!!)

Well just finish talking to iveytune ask him the same question and they told me that i"ll be safe just doing the pins upgrade, and about the lubrication that they having had any problem of lubrication after upgrading the pins.....!

The pin upgrade alone isn't enough and will eventually fail again.

On your other question, what's it matter? You already bought it.

I don't think they do. Jack's Transmissions does do it, and has a great write up on it.

I could barely read this post, but you're wasting even more money by not doing it right. The pins fail because fluid cannot reach them. They could be made out of titanium sprinkled with dolphin piss for good measure and they'll still fail. Save some cash and do it right.

Yea you right and i dont know of not body having issue with a tranny build by shep!.....i would love to send it to jack but im broke right now. What im thinking is just upgrade pins use it like that for a while save then do the jack job

Upgrade the pins but that won't help Since the real issue is lubrication... don't launch or go to crazy with the car..
