Mine has been doing that too. I have had it for 1.5-2yrs and its very hard to read in the sun now.

I suspect that the wire that should be hooked to the dimmer has pulled loose on mine, and its no longer getting a good reference for brightness. In the software you can select whether 12V or ground is max brightness. Ive tried toggling this with no success, which is why I think I'm missing the ref voltage. Ill dig into this tonight and see if it fixes it, otherwise we may have bad displays.

good info laz. I wonder why they would use a tech (OLED) that changes visual characteristics within 2 years of life.

OLED has a number of advantages over traditional LCD (power consumption when displaying blacks, contrast ratios, etc), and not all OLED screens are effected by this degradation. I have a really old Asus MP3 player that had an AMOLED display and it still looks spot on.

I'm going to be a little bummed if I have to RMA the guage, its not the easiest install

Ill report back tomorrow if I have any luck with the wiring.
