Move this if in wrong section mod...have no idea where to post it..

Okie gentlemen, here my problem...Whenever shifting to 2nd and 3rd when the rpms are in the 5k range, I get this weird CRACKING type sound whenever I push in the clutch to shift..I can somewhat feel the noise also..

It only happens when I shift for 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd and only when the rpm are 5k and above..

Any ideas what this noise is?

Hmm. I would say its in the clutch assembly, possibly diaphragm spring? Not really sure. Kind of tough since it doesnt do it other wise. It doesn't do this with the engine off and shifting through gears?

Random questions:

  • could you reproduce the noise by just depressing the clutch at that rpm or do you need to also shift?
  • does it do it if you holding steady at that RPM or only if accelerating?
  • what if instead of accelerating your not hitting the gas at all and compression braking?
That might give some clues?
