2008 Evo MR or 2010 Evo SE ...

So, i'm pretty new to the whole Evo scene... my question is very generalized- what would you prefer a 2008 MR or a 2010 SE .. & a nice few reasons why?

i'm looking towards purchasing an Evo within the next 2 months, and in my town, everyone cruises around with their sti's and tries to race everything they can .. (i have nothing against STi's) but in particular, these guys have shitty ones that are just slighty tuned for extra "douche-bag"-ness.

I'd be purchasing either the 2008 Evo MR or 2010 Evo SE .. stock. but shortly after getting used to it, i plan to modify it with some AEM cold intake, and some type of exhaust.. of which i'm unsure so far..

STOCK-wise, which car .. 2008 MR or 2010 SE ..

SE. rarer and blacked out parts vs chrome trim and also newer with color screen.

depends. I have an SE and its great. The MR has more luxury features, but the 2010 SE has the SST trans updates from mitsu which the 08 doesnt have.

This, and also it is lighter (albeit, only a little bit - if you care at all).

2010 SE. It's the updated version, just doesn't have the leather/alcantara interior or the big spoiler. Overall it's better though. The chrome trim sucks.

The base 2012 MR is now what the 2010 SE was. You probably won't find a new '10 SE anyway.

If you knew the owner then you would know he sells cars that he wants to! In the showroom he has 2 2006 Evo IX MR's with 6 miles on them both. He wont sell neither because he doesnt want to....Thats the way it is (what I was told)

Yeah, SCM has a row of at least a dozen SE's in the back. Wouldn't sell one to me when I was last there 5 months ago

If you really want a hard find, look for the second rarest car in this new chassis style:
2010 Octane Blue Ralliart Sportback with Recaro & Navi packages

Octane Blue was least made color (for Sportbacks), and the Recaro Package was only available for 1 year (2010).

I disagree with sstevojr. More rare than the SE (arguably) was the Rotor Glow GSR....only made for 2010.

Can someone get me an exact count from SCM on their X SEs?
