-dyno added.

-i also noticed the afr is still at 10.2 at wot. this was my afr before the tune. the car is def not as rich as it was from what i can tell. my car used to backfire and gargle like a madman before and the smell of gas has also disappeared. how it it that my wot afr is same as before when clearly, its not running as rich as it was before?

-also, i noticed my peak tq is before 3.5k rpm. is that normal? shouldn't peak tq come about after 3.5k rpm?

-i dont like the way my tq drops down to 180. what do i need to keep my tq line flatter? 3port?

so i just got my car tuned because my previous tune was in the shits. the car was running super rich and it was boosting at 29 lbs. i knew something was wrong so i've been driving like a granny lately.

so yesterday i got my car dyno and tuned at a local shop. now boost peaks at 25 and the car is running much more healthy.

so given my mods and the dyno used, does 270 whp and 290tq sound about right?

i'll post my graph as soon as the shop emails it to me.

With exhaust, intake, test pipe? It doesn't sound right to me. Seems too low.
For what it's worth, at Kaizen with basic bolt ons (before 3-port boost controller/cams) we usually break 300awhp and 300-320 awtq on a DD dyno. The whp just seems a LITTLE conservative. But it's in the general ballpark.

and uicp. thats what i was thinking... but the shop was telling me that this dyno reads pretty low. i'm not too familiar with the different types of dynos.
It does read low, just seems 20-30hp off, but like I said, might just be a conservative tune.

i did request to have a mild tune. this is my daily and i plan to keep the car for a very long time. i suppose if i opted for 26 lbs of boost instead of the 25, he could've squeezed another 10 whp.
Yeah but it's not like your gonna be shittin your pants with 10 more horse. I'm sure the tune is solid and that's what matters
on my local dd, with basic bolt ons, i made 309 whp and 310 ft/lbs @ 26 psi for reference.
Yesterday I made 350/332 with similar mods, but I have a cat and was also at 25psi.

what type of dyno?
Do you like how your car feels? Does it maintain boost better at a lower PSI and still feel faster? If so then who cares what the numbers are?

oh yea... car def has more power in the lower rpm range and it pulls nice and smooth.

i'm not really chasing hp numbers, i just wanted to know how my car is fairing up against other evo x with similar mods on this dyno.
You are on 91 correct? seems inline for a proper low reading DD.
Here is mine on 93oct with an intake/exhaust/testpipe...

Your numbers seem inline.

Nice to see another regular 1.0CF DD dyno! Nice work.

that sounds right to me, when I had my X stock I dynoed below 200 whp and full turbo back and cobb stage 2 only 248 so yea about right
thats a nice set of numbers. i'd be happy with that. now, apparently i forgot to factor in the number of runs we did. the dyno u see on page 1 is i believe run #14. therefore, the engine was suffering from seak soak. i'm gonna see if they'll give me a free run to compare.

We tried to do a baseline to see what exactly the car was doing, and as u can see from the graph Steven has been unable to push the car past 5300 rpm due to overboosting, and hitting boost/fuel cut, just touching 29 psi. I believe theres ~ 65K on the clock, and not sure how long hes been on this previous tune.

Cali 91 :(
proper low reading dyno
25 - 17 psi
So not an aggressive tune.

Steven: as we spoke, a 3-port and intercooler would be nice upgrades for the next round and we can turn it up a lil...
Yeah, with intake, exhaust, 3 port, uicp on a DD I got like 303. So if you got a 3 port I'm sure you'd hold more boost to the redline and your numbers would go up =]
