According to tirerack 285s can be installed on wheels 9.5 to 11.0 inch wide.

I am thinking about picking up a set of XXR 527s as my track wheels. So I would like to get the widest possible tire. What do you guys think?

Its gonna be a wide, very heavy tire. Go 265 or 275..

Yeah, after I looked at the weight of the 285s, I dont think the extra 4-5lbs per tire rotational mass is worth the extra 10mm width.
I am going to go with 275/35 which are super close to stock setup as far as speedo error goes. .54% difference:rock:

My 285/35's are flush on my 10.5" wide rims, yours are going to be crazy bulbous

I have the 275/35 Hoosiers on the RPF1 9.5 and they fit perfect... I also have 265/35 RE-11 on my stock 8.5's and they fit perfect. Not Crazy Bulbous.
