Hey guys,

Went to look at a 2008 UK GSR today. It has 43000 miles on it and is overall an extremely clean car with full dealer service history ect and is not modified at all. We went for a test drive and everything was spot on bar at low speed/revs the change from 1st to 2nd gear in both auto and manual was slightly "jerky".
At higher speed/revs though it didn't happen and every gear change otherwise flawless.
What I'm wondering is the "jerky" feeling normal or should i walk away now?

Cheers

Thanks wolf. Iv seen one other thread talking about the same issue so guess its just a "feature" of the SST box.
I'll be the proud owner of an evo by Wednesday so by the looks of things! :)

It is also normal for them to not want to go into reverse occasionally when cold until you put it in drive first, and then reverse. Setting the brake before putting the car in park when putting it up for the night usually prevents this from happening. It is imply because the trans doesn't like to shift if the shafts are loaded when it isn't moving.

Mine does the same thing in second gear, seems like thats the only gear it happens in. For me, it does it in upshift and downshift. As far as going in reverse, mine does the same thing occasionally. Its annoying but I just have to get use to coming to a complete stop not just a roll before putting it in reverse.

I do not come to a comlete stop - several times at ~3-5 MPH it will select D or R easily. it slowly engages and there is no hammer effect when engaging the opposite direction - with closed throttle.

Warmed up SST.
