I got a quote from a local tint shop to day for the 3M tint. To do the 3 rear windows I got a quote of $350. That sounds high to me. I think he said $450 or so to do the front two as well.

Does anyone here have 3M tint? What did you pay?

I had all the windows done with 3M tint, and was supposed to pay about 325 I believe, but got about 100 off because the Mitsu finance guy sent me over there (I'll take it where I can get it!). Make sure you have the felt lining installed on the insides of the windows so as to not scratch the tint up :rock:

I prefer Johnson's tint personally. If you can get a couple cars together, I can get our tinter to do a little tint day at the shop. Figure around $200 for the entire car (5 windows).

He said he could do the Johnson's tint for $250 for the rear 3 (which still sounds expensive). However, the Johnson's was metallic and such, which isn't good for the keyless setup.

? What do you mean by that? We have it in our shop X and everything works perfectly fine. A lot of tinters that carry both lines prefer Johnson's over 3m due to durability and ease of "laying".

Apparently metallic tint can interfere with the FAST key system, or so I've heard. You have FAST on your X?

I dont like the metallic tint so Id prefer a flat black window tint job. That would be the only thing that would sway me.

They say the tint itself has a lifetime guarantee on it.

3m is by far the best still. I had it on my last car. Nothing compares to it. I got something else this time around and it wasn't as dark and quality as the 3m.

I want to tint my car as well as the front and rear light but was told the front and rear lights can't be tinted for some odd reason and that was like from 5 different tint places they all say to smoke them out. what do you guys think?

Dont know if any of you guys care, but I still got scratches in my tint with the mole skin. Its just a super tight fit for the gasket. I had my tint guy just trim them out with no issues after that.
