Yes, because they couldn't get it to pass U.S. emissions testing lol! It's kinda pathetic that the decade+ old FS-DE was a ULEV car in 2002 (Protege5) and was just fine in the Mazdaspeed Protege turboed but a BRAND NEW ENGINE DESIGN from GM couldn't pass emissions tests just a couple years after it was first made.

I'd drive one...back to hertz.
kinda like I did with the G5 coupe rental I had..but to Enterprise --on a bent and flat donut, shredded tire and bent wheel in the trunk, hubcap missing, warped front rotors.

I swear I didn't abuse the thing that much, just a string of unfortunate potholes and other road hazards on my way to drop off the car.

They didn't change enough about the normal cobalt/g5 to make the SS a decent car --seriously, they would have to change everything. The whole interior, every last bit of it (well I can't say the carpet and floormats were terrible), the overly cautious and bland exterior, the rear suspension setup, the engine noise that plagues all GM cars, 4 cyl or 6.. the "you are an idiot so we're going to do it all for you" crazy complicated electronic systems, .. just everything.

they put fresh lipstick and a thong on a diseased hooker and called it a day, and now she has a new lung transplant and I'm supposed to hit that shit? no way man
