Hey guys
I decided earlier this week to pull the trigger and order some 18 x 9.5 wheels for my Ralliart. Place the order through Wheel Dude talk to Tommy he is very helpful and helped me out with a lot of advice and guidance. I've noticed that there are not too many RalliArt's with 9.5 inch rims on their cars I wanted to be different and decided to push the envelope. My question is can it be done I know anything can be done with work. Offset on the wheels is 30 I have already rolled my rear fenders and slight pulled them fronts will be rolled or cambered on the top mount of the coil over to allow for clearance. I'm currently running a Nitto NT555 235/40/18 I will be putting this tire on the new wheels. I just wanted to see if there was anyone else on this form that is running such an aggressive wheel like this on a RalliArt. I have seen many Lancer GTS is running 10.5 inch wheels with no issues so hopefully this works just a little nervous so wanted to see what you guys think. Thanks a lot for your opinion and advice.

235 is way to small for a 9.5" wheel.

I understand that's a small tire but I have to give one or the other to make it fit I'm stamped at the moment lowered on BC coil overs maxed out with my current 18 x 18 the half with a 44 offset running the 235 tire.

I run 18x9.5+10 on my Ralliart Sportback. Also I only run a 215/40/18 tire. That gives me a lot of the clearance needed to run such a wide aggressive wheel on the car without running camber arms. You can for sure get a 235/40/18 on there fitting and not rubbing but like you already said, you will need to have the fenders rolled and try to pull them as much as you can without hurting the car. Also to help fit that a lot better you can run a lot more camber in the rear by buying the Megan Racing Rear Camber Arms that say they are for the Lancer and not a Ralliart. They work exactly the same on the Ralliart. 100% mach and no issues with using them on a Ralliart. Only reason Megan Racing say they are not for the Ralliart is because the Part # for the factory part your replacing the camber arms with is different from the one on the Ralliart but they are 100% identical parts just with different part numbers from the factory because one is made for the Lancer and one for the Ralliart. Even though they are identical they require different part #'s from the factory. Hope that helps.

I really don't understand the point of running a wheel with an undersized tire.

It's not really impressive to put a wheel in if you're not going to use all of it to support the tire. If you like the look, then cool, but it's really not anything special to use a 10" wheel with 205's.

OP, 8.5" is more than enough to go 235. If you're really set on 9.5", then push the envelope and try to get 265 in.

I don't know if you own an X or what but on an X yes you could run a 18x9.5 or 8.5 with a 265 tire and fit it with the fact that your car is built wider and able to support that much wheel and tire. The Lancer and Ralliart cannot fit a 265 tire on a 18x9.5 wheel. Not going to happen. The fenders aren't wide enough and built for that much tire and wheel. Even running a 265 on the 18x8.5 is probably not going to fit either. If you do get it to fit on either wheel then you will have to have major wheel gap and running the 18x9.5 you will be extremely mexi-poked and it would potentially even look bad on the 18x8.5. That is all on the Lancer and Ralliart. Now on the X it's a whole different story. Just look at this guy's wheel fitment for instance on his Ralliart running 17x9 with a 255/40 and lowered on Eibach Sportline Kit.>> http://www.evolutionm.net/forums/09.../687074-pull-fenders-255-40r17-17x9-35-a.html . When I say fit, I mean having it on the car with no issues or modifications made to make it work.

I just find it funny that people consider a properly fitting 265 tire on a 9.5" wheel to be ugly. I also would never run 265 on 8.5" wheels, that's just inviting sidewall flex.

If you can't fit the 265, then why bother going for 9.5? Just use an 8.5" wheel and put 245's on, or a 9" wheel and put 255's.

Looking at the linked thread, seems like 9", 255 is the upper limit on wheel and tire. It looks like it can be done, with maybe a little more offset and a little more camber, but I wouldn't want to street that setup for the accelerated camber wear. My guess is that 9" wheel, +38 offset and front camber approaching -3.0, rear camber approaching -2.0 would clear inside and not rub fender. Just a guess, I haven't done much research on Ralliarts.

If all you can really fit is 235's, then save your money and get an 8.5" wheel and be done with it.

Then again, I prioritize performance over looks. If wide wheels on narrower tires is your thing, then ignore everything I've said. I also don't like it for all the curb rashing it invites when you have to parallel park.

265 on a 9.5" rim +30 ain't gonna happen on a RA without cut fenders and added fender flares, but I agree with your point.

When parking hard, who cares about the tires, amiright?
