I decided to be the guinea pig, it's safe to remove. It has an airbag up top but it's out of the way. There is a little plastic connector in place to keep the pillar from smacking you if the the bag deploys.

I felt safe screwing my gauges into to it.

I also believe that this means that an aftermarket pod is certainly possible. All they have to do is make a little spot for the plastic nub to attach itself to.

I also want to know if this will be alright when the airbag goes off because that is the best place for a boost gauge in this car.
I do believe so as I was explaining before. I wish I had taken pics but the camera was out of batteries >.<;

The airbag is up top and deploys downward, there is a connector between the pillar and the plastic detachable section to prevent it from flying at you. Nothing would change by attaching gauges.

This is also Why I believe we will be seeing A-pillar replacements soon. They just need to make a part the can attach to the little plastic connector.

Its looks very nice I like it alot. I have the exact same set up on my 06 MR right now.

So the little plastic work much the same as some doors in the house
with the little metal chain,to prevent unwanted people to push their way in when you open the door right?

Thank you for being a Guinea Pig!

I like the A-Pillar gauges, though I think I want to integrate them with a Metra kit and a headunit.

Regardless, it looks sweet. Just don't take the testing too far and try to make the airbags deploy to make sure.
