I'm looking at picking up a set of tires for my car. This is a pretty large purchase, so I did a little research. For those of you that care, I for one would like to buy as much American product as I possibly can. I know the argument always comes up about this is better than that, blah blah blah. Yes I know I have a fully Japanese made vehicle!

That being said if you don't know already Tirerack dot com has a huge inventory on tires. If you choose any tire, then click on specs. On the right hand side the "country of origin" is listed. I didn't know that and wanted to share it with anyone else that is searching for tires and take where they are manufactured into consideration.

Good luck finding any made in the US on Tirerack. If you really interested in buying American, look at the Cooper Zeon RS-3. Has had great reviews in the Mustang community, priced about the same as a Nitto NT05 for our cars. Not all their tires are made in US, but I believe most.

My pops works at a ford dealership. He builds new Mustangs, with customized and aftermarket options then sells them as new with warranty. He uses the coopers as well, when he outfits the Car with new wheels. I think that the tread pattern is pretty nice, kinda like the hankooks rs3.

I've been debating taking a chance and trying these over the NT05's, as their about the same price. Did he track them?

Na, he just drives like a madman... ill leave it at that. I can tell you though, my last tires were the NT-05. I won't be getting them again. The main reason why is I do DD my car and any standing water with those tires is a white knuckle drive. Id rather get another tire with comparable grip but a much higher hydroplaning resistance. Those tires are like running slicks in the rain... esp after a few k miles on them. just my .02.

The feedback on these is either you love them or hate them. Its driving me crazy. The majority of what I want the tires for is for the track, but it is assumed some days will have rain. I really wish there were more reviews regarding the Coopers on non-Mustangs....
