I have a question for all of you running an AMS turbo kit and/or PTE turbo:

I am running an AMS 750R turbo kit (PTE 5857) and noticed today that when I shut the car down, I caould hear my turbo spiining to a stop (from inside the car) its fairly loud. This leads me to thing there is some kind of bearing damage to the turbo.

Does anyone else have this? can you actually hear the turbo spinning after the car is shut down?

Keep in mid this turbo kit is brand new, and on a brand new engine that I am still breaking in. The whole setup only has 300 miles on it or so.

Tephra, jkpinos, hollywood, Im looking in your direction here. Anyone else running one of these kits/turbos I would appreciate the input, I know there are a handful of people on here.

Thanks.

Mine spins for a bit, that just meas the bearings are good
Its not the spinning that bothers me, its the sound. Never actually HEARD any of my stock frames turbos spinning after the car was shut off.

The BB turbos I've had in the past spin for ages. maybe 10-20 seconds?
Like you can shut down the car, grab your shit and get out and you notice it when you walk past.
Agree, the first time you hear it you're like "WTF is that??" ;)

Joining the club soon.
I can't stand not fitting in with the cool kids at my local shop. Apparently ball bearings are "in" now. And sideways caps. And Reebok pumps....

^ we actually feed in fuel and CO2 through the exhaust manifold, the motor does a rinse cycle, the turbo purifies and fresh air comes out the filter.
One day you northern hemisphere guys will work out that "backward" really is forward ;)
