Alright, so I installed the AMS UICP myself by just looking at images of other Xs that already installed it and tried to setup the pieces together.
It was kind of difficult to take off the OEM coupling at the IC's side because i chose not remove the front bumper (I didn't have a Wrench Screwdriver either) but I managed to get around that problem anyway.
The disaster that happened is that I didn't crazy tighten the clamps on the coupling that goes to the turbo and went for a test drive. When i stepped on it and hit 3K RPM, i heard a strong airflow kind of noise from the engine bay, the car pulled back as if the power source was completely cut off. Apparently the coupling to the turbo snapped off, newbie moment here, lesson learned. I tightened everything and went for another test driver and it was all smooth and good.
Excuse the quality, it was at night, not enough light and was taken with an iPhone 4.
When i was searching around the forums to know what kind of noise you can expect from installing an UICP, everyone said that the noise is barely noticeable. My god! The sound that I hear when the turbo kicks (I think it's called spooling) in at 3K RPM is SEXY (This is my first turbo charged car, yes, I am excited!)! Too bad the noise stops on gear change. Can't wait to get an AMS or ETS intake and hear the full potential of the car.
Was a very nice experience at the end of the day for my first hands on experience with messing around in the engine bay.
