So I wasn't going make a build thread. I changed my mind and figured I would.

Yes you are reading it right, 2.2 + Stock turbo lol. I have been up and down with this car. I bought it brand new new May 2008, drove it till my deployment in Feb. 2009. The car tossed a rod out of the block in Texas while driving the car from CA to WI, crappy. I came back from my deployment bought a new block, replaced the pistons/rods. I put it all back together and failed to check my head/valves. Started the car ran great, started to break it in to take to AMS to get a tune. Bang piston hit valve trashed my head destroyed my piston. All I could do was laugh, my wife (GF at the time) was pissed. No big deal. The car sat in my parents garage in WI while I worked in CA. Then, I decided to get married. So all the money that was going to be used on the car got used for my wedding (Should of just did a court house wedding!). So the car sat even longer. I deployed again in 2010 and finally caught up to get the motor fixed. My mindset on this build was, if its not broke don't fix it. I wasn't going to dig myself in a huge hole for my car. So if you wonder why I'm still on a stuck turbo, well it wasn't broken. No I have no desire to "max out" my stock turbo. Whatever I get I get.

This car maybe will get driven 2-3 times a week, if that so its not exactly my DD. I have a RA/SB for that.

Cool build! But you you'll upgrade that turbo eventually. It won't take long!

Good logic! I know Kooldino is running a 2.2 with stock turbo until his BB Black gets in (don't know if he has it yet).

Your right, it won't be long before i upgrade my turbo. I want to already I'm just torn between what i want. I'm in love with the torque of the stock turbo already just after a couple of pulls. I can't wait till the final tune is done. I might opt for a EF3 because of the fast spool/tq it can make. But part of me wants an EF4 just because of the top end. I like the idea of a stock frame because I like to keep my engine low key (IE stock intake) I also like the EFR turbos. So many choices. I'll rock the stock turbo for now, maybe pick some injectors up and run E85 for a little bit, then upgrade turbos later.
is getting a bb fpgreen or bb fpred an option? your stock turbo + 2.2 must be awesome. congrats.
Yes it is an option. I have a while to think about getting a turbo. I might be looking into buying a house so I'm not exactly in a rush to buy a new turbo. If i figure what what will fit my needs I will get one.
cool mate good luck with the house. note the new bb fp's spool slightly faster than the journal bearing fp's so will be pretty close to stock spool, but $ is a factor. house is more important anyway, I'm sure you'll have fun with the 2.2 on stock turbo. stock spool ftw!

I like the idea of BB, the price kind makes me think of just doing a T3. Yes I agree a house is more important, I'm tired of renting and having to follow rules and paying extra to have my dog. The spool of the stock turbo just makes me laugh.
Hmmmm?^ I'm contemplating this... I don't have enough supporting mods I think yet... And on a budget

When your ready just do an EF turbo from MAP :)
Most of my weight leans on an EF3. But right now I have to put my money else where. If anything I'll swap out my injectors and swap to do e85. I guess my overall goal would be about 500hp-ish. Not trying to be in the 600hp club. I don't want to try and set "records" I just want to have fun with the car.
Maybe we will work out a,deal and you can get my green and I will take your stocker. I would sure like an ef3 on my putt putt ra
Any updates on this
Give me your green ill give you my stocker and a few bills

Still getting tuned by clipse. So far its looking good on the virtual dyno its showing 370/400 with pulls on a slight incline. Tq holds about 400 from 3.5k - 4.5k rpm. But we are almost out of injectors. Wish i had 93 oct :/
Any updates on this
Ill post a vd on where we are when my wife brings the comp home. I cant do it from my phone
