Any Canadians Getting the Evo?

Just out of curiousity - given the higher pricing and lack of options for the EVO X GSR in Canada - do we still have any takers for the Evo?

I love the car, I hate the pricing/option scheme (or at least what Mitsu Canada is insinuating to by doing business this way) ....

Hmmm... now that you guys bring up the whole Transport Canada dealing with Bumper Regulation... I just did some quick research.... A globe and mail article pointed out that Transport Canada had mentioned its intention to revisit bumper regulations in the Canada Gazette ... looking it up, I found at the following link:

http://canadagazette.gc.ca/partI/2007/20071013/html/notice-e.html#i10

It's a good 8 page read... gives some decent background and info into the situation. Here's a short list of the options they're considering, and they explain it further as well:

"The Department is considering the following options and is interested in gathering comments:
1. Maintain status quo;
2. Maintain status quo but allow alternative compliance with the lower leg requirements of the gtr on pedestrian safety (since this portion of the gtr is the most advanced);
3. Rescind the Canadian bumper standard;
4. Rescind the Canadian bumper standard but regulate the lower leg requirements of the gtr on pedestrian safety as either mandatory or optional;
5. Amend the Canadian bumper standard to align the bumper impact test speeds with those of the United States; and
6. Amend the Canadian bumper standard to align the bumper impact test speeds with those of the United States and allow optional (or potentially require) compliance with the lower leg requirements of the gtr on pedestrian safety."
Last but not least, they request for people to give their comments and opinions... which was due on Dec 31st (the document itself dates back to Oct 13, 2007). And if you want to send it anyway.... send to :

"Comments, questions, and requests for additional information regarding this notice may be directed to Matthew *****, Senior Regulatory Development Engineer, Road Safety and Motor Vehicle Regulation Directorate, Transport Canada, 330 Sparks Street, 8th Floor, Ottawa, Ontario K1A 0N5, 613-998-1961 (telephone), 613-990-2913 (fax); and Standards and Regulations Division, Road Safety and Motor Vehicle Regulation Directorate, Transport Canada, 330 Sparks Street, 8th Floor, Ottawa, Ontario K1A 0N5, 613-998-2268 (telephone), 613-990-2913 (fax)."
Anybody paying $3,000 market adjustment is getting full on DP'd!
:wallbash:

Taking it in the butt :idhitit: ... or DP ... Mitsubishi Canada just can't seem to get it right.... As the underdog in Canada, they should be much more aggressive - playing it safe won't get them anywhere...

No offense - if they can't even appease fans of the Evo ... how the hell do they expect to sell the MR to the Audi/BMW crowd when they're overpriced, under-optioned, and don't have the build quality and luxury those cars have?! (or how about height adjustable seats huh?)

Sorry guys - just had to vent a bit ... :|
