"...Although there have been ten incarnations of the Lancer Evolution--the X in the Evo X's name represents the Roman numeral ten and not the letter X--the Lancer sedan upon which it is based has undergone only four generational changes since its inception. The most recent of the four gave birth to the 2003-07 Evo VIII and Evo IX; that platform was the first Evolution-spec Lancer to come to the United States. As you'd expect, it was also the best-selling of the bunch, clocking in at about 60,000 examples worldwide. (To put that figure into perspective, consider that Evos I through VI sold fewer than 60,000 units combined.)..."

Ha ha, I once worked for a Chrysler dealer (could only stand their ethics for about five months) and found out that the engine in my MINI was a Chrysler four-banger originally used for the Euro Neon (tip, if you look underneath the oil cap on 06 and older MINIs you will see the Chrysler five pointed star logo). Now I'm getting another Chrysler engine? Or is it only partly Chrysler?

Daimler Chrysler had a hand in developing this new 4B11 engine...

"Built using a new platform co-developed with DaimlerChrysler, the Concept-X has a 122 cui turbo four engine producing 300 bhp, a twin-clutch transmission, a further-developed all-wheel-drive system, and lightweight, all-aluminum bodywork. Best of all, the design leaves the current car’s econobox roots far behind"

Sounds a lot like the 4g engine. Wasn't the 4g shared with Chrysler?
