I wonder if they're going to give people a hard time if they have relocation kits.
considering it's a "warranty" item, not a recall, I would suspect that any changes to the "stock" system will not be included in the warranty claim...

That was my thought as well.

The relocation kits, while helpful, could theoretically hurt people in some cases.

Best case scenario - your pump fails, Mitsu replaces it, and then you relocate it.

There is no extended warranty

I just spoke with Mitsubishi Head Office, Customer Relations and they notified me that it is not n extended warranty.
You can have your servicing dealer process a warranty claim and they would take history into consideration and possibly cover a portion or the full repair.
I am currently in the process of doing so.

I'm in Canada and not 100% if this applies to the US as well.

I guess Canada is different. I had more than 60k miles on my 2008 Evo (outside of both the 5 year and 60k mile warranties), and my ACD pump was replaced for free under warranty at Paramus Mitsubishi (NJ, USA)

Are you the original owner of your Evo? I have an 08 with 67k miles, but I am the second owner. Wondering why they denied to warranty my pump..

I called the closest Mitsubishi dealer today and they said they couldn't do anything for me, but they said I could call Mitsubishi directly and they might be able to help me out. So I called and talked to them, they said someone would call me within 48 hours to see if they could help me out at all. I've got my fingers crossed, most likely they will tell me to go [email protected]#k myself lol

Did they extend the warranty on all these pumps to 100k or no?

Well paramus mitsubishi replaced mine for free even after telling me it's not under the powertrain warranty. Did that drive belt recall too.

Alright, I guess here's my addition to the compilation.
2010 Evo GSR...current mileage is just under 27k
I left for Europe for almost 3 months, and when I came back, I started up the car and the AWD-needs service light came on and has stayed on. I also can not adjust the AWC setting (tarmac, snow, etc). I do live in central PA; however, in 5 years I've only seen <0degF temperatures maybe 3 days. We generally have a few weeks of single digits/teens. Also, the car has always been garage kept, but it is my DD. So, question for you guys. I've been doing as much research as possible, and people were talking about "flashing" it. Is this just flashing the ECU to clear the code? Also, when you guys are popping this light, have any of you had issues with the relay under the hood, or has it been only pump problems? I'm going to contact the local dealer tomorrow, but I'm not sure how well this warranty will hold up for me, if at all. I'm second owner on the vehicle (does the warranty transfer??), and I'm fairly modded with all of the bolt-ons...now, that being said, I don't think any mod would directly effect this pump!? So, I'm gonna cross my fingers and hope this works out!

Here's a follow-up. I just talked to the Mitsu service center, and according to his computer via my VIN#, it's under warranty. He did ask what aftermarket parts I have on there...I told him bolt-ons only, primarily exhaust, and that I wasn't sure whether or not the ECU has been flashed, but I'm pretty sure it hasn't. So, I've got an appointment next Monday morning to get it checked/repaired. Now, I guess 2nd owner is 50kmiles/5 years. I purchased the car in Dec 2010 and I think the guy before me had it less then 4 months. I wanna say the title said more like 2 months, but I'm not positive. So, I may be just squeaking in concerning the age of the vehicle! He said I still have to bring it in, and they double verify that it's covered under warranty. Hopefully all goes well. Also, he said there's some kind of update to the ECU, and the drive belt needs to be changed. I guess the drive belt is on hella back-order, so I may or may not get that done...but, anyone know what the ECU recall/mod is all about?

are you the original owner? Do you have a Cat? I don't think they care about exhaust for the AWC pump? My guess is that you're not the original owner and your vehicle has more than just a CBE (and based on your signature, I'm likely correct about the mods)... Being tuned, I'd be shocked if they'll warranty the part.

14 lancer ralliart just got the second one replaced! Doesn't even have 40,000km fought like he'll the 1st time... took the old lady all day waiting in the dealership waiting for approval.... warned them we were coming and this is what it was ( we live 2 hours away). nope had to reschedule! Took 4 hours SMH!
Just decided to take a look under there....

Rusted bolts dirty rotted housing with washers installed!!!

I'll get a picture to share.

Bottom line put your foot down! There car salesmen don't even know wtf they do or where there located. Have the forums ready! And talk to the manager....
