Bad ass oil cooler set up

So I wasn't happy with what the options were for oil coolers on the market. Most were bat shit crazy expensive or had a bad design JDM stuff in some way that hindered good flow and added some restriction. I was bitching to the guys at MAPerformance about it when I was on the phone ordering some other parts.

A couple hours later Chris Carey calls me back and says he thinks he's got what I was looking for. A few days later I got a little box from him :innocent:

With lines this big I'm surprised it didn't come with cam lock fittings lol

Plus it's pretty inconspicuous and doesn't block my intercooler some I'm happy :dancebanana:

I don't think MAPerformance has these on the site yet but Nate and Chris have it set up in the system. Now mine was done with my semi custom front end and 5mph bumper but it should fit the same for any X.

The other plus side to this is no more messing around trying to get the stock lines lined up, they are a pain in the ass.

Very cool!
Looking good :)
last pic isnt loading for me... would this only work with your setup since you axed the crashbeam?

It will actually be a better fit with a full crash beam.
You'll notice the tiny sliver between the oil cooler and intercooler, thats my custom mount. The top of it is the identical height of the stock beam yet it's a whole lot thinner and 1/3 as wide. You get more mounting options with a larger beam.
-10 lines?

Nice choice with the setrab core. Is the OEM unit in the bumper eliminated with this?

Yes to all
Nice, looks like A LOT like the SSP one I have.
Looks good HW
OP, how many rows is the cooler? looks clean on the install
Hollywood, what intercooler are you running?
I think he is still using the Perrin IC..

Justin Love your car, your work, the info you provide to us and your intelligence.:rock:
Setrab is the best money can buy for the most part +1
this is badass...
Motoiq did one like this. I like it but gotta go with Hollywood's for simplicity of install (and probably a lot cheaper too).
Above the wheel you have these 2 little connectors that look like the keep the fender attached to the bumper. What all is that? What is the purpose? I have an idea of what it does but what all did you use to make it as that would fix an issue i have.

If I remember correctly they are made by PasswordJDM.
PasswordJDM part #PWBRF-UNV.

And Setrab FTW.

They are Password JDM quick connects for ease of pulling the front on and off. They also help to hold it together better at speeds over 100mph when the busted ass plastic clips start pulling out. Sean from DSG can get these pretty cheap and in many colors.
