I have a 2015 Evo Mr it has 75k miles

so the brakes have been making a screaming noise and so I decided to take it to the shop to get new rotors and pads. The mechanic working on my car said that my front right passenger caliper is bad and that I needed a whole new caliper. I couldn’t get a good enough picture but this is what the caliper looked like when he took it off the car.

If anyone could help me see what’s wrong with it whether I need new seals or what not it would help because I don’t believe a caliper off a 2015 MR that has 75k miles can go bad so early. Or can it?

I see a bad dust seal on at least 1 piston. Could have led to the piston being seized. These calipers are rebuildable if you can find a kit available.

Bless your soul :,) how can you tell that a piston is being seized?

The pad will hang and cause uneven pad wear. It almost looks like that piston is pushing the edge of the brake pad into the rotor.

You can usually just pop the pistons out and polish them up. Polish the cylinder as well. Then clean them really well and install new seals. I'd push your mechanic for more reason as to why you need a new caliper.
