Anybody know or have an impression of how Evo sales are going in Canada?
I was at my local dealer today and I was kind of kidding him cause they still had that silver one sitting there that I saw 6 weeks ago or so.
He seemed kind of embarassed that it was still unsold.
They were kind of cocky when I first went in cause they had sold a black one the 1st day it came in. I said they were priced too high in Canada but of course they didn't agree then.

They are definitely not flying off the showroom. I think the majority of the Canadians are waiting for the MR. If we get options like they do in the states, they would probably sell better, but no, we only get the base model.

As far as I know mine was the second one sold in Manitoba. The first, a red one, was sold by Vickars Mistu in Winnipeg to somebody from Saskatoon, Sask. I haven't been able to find out if any have been sold from the other mistu dealership in Winnipeg so it leads me to believe they haven't.

Aside from that it seems like BC, Alberta and Ontario are selling the most. There are a number of BC, Edmonton and Toronto members on this and other evo x forums.

Care to speculate on the number sold? I'm guessing not more than 25 at this time.

btw, Vickars was selling theirs for 43k. It was a couple grand over MSRP but they didn't seem to willing to negotiate.

Sounds like a good guess. I don't see that selling for over MSRP lasting.
In fact I could even see incentives coming.

I've yet to see one on the street here in the lower mainland of B.C.
I keep looking,............... there's one, there's one................Nope. Just a Lancer GTS.

That's part of the problem with the high price. Looks damn near like every other Lancer to most people.

Driving around Winnipeg and Brandon made a lot of people turn and look quite hard.
I really started to notice a lot of lancers driving around after getting the X, it's like all of a sudden they were everywhere. I came up behind a lancer in the other lane and pulled up beside him. When he saw my car he panicked and pulled off the road as fast as he could.

The price does suck but it's helping to keep it fairly exclusive and I can't argue with that.

Btw, ran into the owner of this '92 Evo in a smaller prairie town. He was just as shocked as me.

Cool pic. I like the blue.

I think it's like that when you get a new car.
I bought a 98 Toyota Corolla for my daughter in that Toyota bronze they come in and all of it sudden it seemed like those cars were everywhere, haaha. There are a lot of them.

I like your story about the guy getting out of the way.
I've had this 911 about 3 mos. now and most people get out of the left hand lane pretty fast when they see me coming. :)
Just as a thought, for some reason I've noticed I get more looks/stares from people in Acura's than any other brand. Weird.

Lol, looking good now mate, well done! u using any buffers or wax on her?
Not yet. As it was still winter and the dealership I bought it from had the paint protection applied to it I've decided to hold off on the first wax until this summer before I put it away for the winter. You see I am only going to be able to drive it twice a year at best due to it being in Manitoba and myself being in Nunavut.

When I do, a friend has some Mothers products for me to use. Figured I'd give them a shot.

Hrm, I agree with the sales of the GSR's being slow...having said that, I noticed that the black one at VanMitsu has finally been sold, (the white one was sold quite early from what I remember), and the black one at Newtype was sold sometime between last Saturday and last Monday...not to mention the crazy long wait lists they have for the MR. Anyone wanna sneak over to North Shore Mitsu and have a look-see?

I just bought my Evo in London, Ontario. I pick it up Tuesday.....

I was the second person to buy one from this dealership in 2 weeks, likely due to the fact that this dealership is the best Mitsubishi dealer in Ontario (in my opinion). Ridiculously good price, 5.94% financing, and outstanding service.

Thanks.

For the US price... I WISH. I saved some money below MSRP, I won't say how much as every deal is different. Other dealers are selling this car for $1000.00 above MSRP. Also, I haven't heard of anyone getting a decent financing rate yet either.

I should have waited a bit longer on my EVO.
I paid over MSRP, but there are like 4 EVOs on the lot I bought mine and some have been there for 6 weeks

That's the best finance rate I've heard so far through any of the CDN Mitsu's. Was it Wilson Mitsu?

I think my finance rate is 8.6%
When I get a chance I am going to finance it through my bank, my mortgage, car/auto insurance, credit and savings account are all with the bank. So Im hoping to get a wicked finance rate.
