What do you guys think of the methodology of this type of comparison review? I think it is pretty good, but comparing one year to the next is going to be hard because it will depend quite a bit on ambient conditions, like temperature, humidity, pressure, not to mention the drivers.

For example, in 2006 the Evo 8 MR from 2006 did a best lap of 3:13.5 and the Lotus Elise did a best lap of 3:09.2. In 2007 the 335i had a best lap of 3:10.5 and the Lotus Exige S had a best lap of 3:04.5. Fastest lap so far was from the Corvette Z06 with 2:58.2.
I think the Lotus models are very intriguing with their combination of street legal racecar looks and performance.
What will we see in 2008? GT-R, Evo X, STI, new JCW Cooper S, G37, IS-350, M3, ... ???
