Changing headunit

Hi everyone,

I bought a 2010 Evo MR-T and when I bought it, it didn't have any headunit, so I bought a JVC double din 6'' and I thought it would be an easy fix, but I have the rockford speakers and sub and it had the navigation system... it's not working so, to anybody who have changed their headunit and have the rockford kit, what did you do to make it work properly???

Thanks

i assume the harness was gone too? most companies have a clip in harness adaptor you can buy that work with it. i know that we have to replace the harness to install nav units, if whoever had it before took out all that it seems your going to have to buy the mitsu nav harness (not cheap) and then the adaptor for the jvc unit
Well there's three different harness with different plug-in right now...
Judging from your posts it sounds like you don't have a lot of experience with audio and my advice would be to spend another $100-$120 and have this professionally installed. If you have a local shop that's good go there. Best Buy is always an option. All of their techs are certified and they tend to stand behind their work.

There's not much that can be done with the info you're giving.

To have sound with the rockford fosgate sound system and an aftermarket headunit you need a Metra MIT0-02.
Also - If you want to be able to use your steering wheel controls you'll need to get a Pac-audio steering wheel control interface that's compatible with your car and your aftermarket headunit.
That's exactly the kind of answer I needed!! Thank you sir!!!
