so, my 2008 only has 32k miles on it, and of course even with warranty the dealer wont cover there piece of crap clutches so here i am. Im wanting to do something in the area of a stage 2 full face clutch. I'm not going all crazy with the car so i am looking in the 300-500 range as far as cost goes. I just wanted to see what you guys are using and your success rates with it.

Side note, PLEASE GOD OH PLEASE don't put "search" on this post telling me to look up past posts for the answer. Im not dumb, i know how to search, im looking for recent peoples suggestions and advice.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Clutchmasters twin is the new shining star of twins, although exedy twin is still the most proven one.

I say go triple cerametallic if you can afford and if you think you're into the evo for the long haul.

Remember to upgrade the CMC as well to a magnus/ssp solution.

If you just don't wanna spend so much, you can go with the single disc options like the clutchmasters 400 etc.
yea i would love to get an insanely nice clutch, but im pullin more of the baller on a budget lifestyle lately. im looking more in the direction of exedy stage 1 HD, competition clutch stage 2, etc.

And as for the master cylinder deal, this is the first im hearing of this problem (probably cause im never on the site like i should be) Is this a serious problem with all evo X's? in other words, is the master cylinder definitely going to bust if not fixed before hand?

thanks for the response man
ACT HDSS w/ ACT Streetlite flywheel. Get a Magnus or AMS CMC... (AMS is also making a full CMC upgrade not sure if released yet...)
ACT ME1-HDG6 w/resurfaced OEM flywheel, I love mine! No reason to pay the money for the streetlite when it is barely an improvement over stock. I am holding out for the AMS CMC...
OP, the CM FX400 might fit your bill, did you look at that. If its not a stiff clutch, you may not even need to upgrade your CMC.
Spec Stage 3+ is the bomb. 450whp / 385wtq and still running pos plastic cmc with NO dramas. I track it and have launched it at the strip also.

recommend you have the restrictor pill removed when you have your clutch done, makes for a big improvement in engagement and gear change when cold.

thanks for the info.... but as i said, still a noob haha. what exactly is the restricter pill?
hmm first time i've heard of a restrictor pill for the clutch.. has anyone checked out the Spec clutches they seem pretty cheap but a few tuners do have them? as for the slave cylinder AMS also sells a reinforcement for it pretty cheap but the ssp full upgrade or switching it out for a evo 9 one is better , thats only if you put a really crazy clutch lol
i run a stage 3 6 puck spec in my s13 and im putting out close to 450 at the wheels. i can drop the clutch in 3rd and spin the tires at 30mph AND its gentle enough that my grandmother could drive it. not sure how much different it would be for my evo, but im gonna give it a shot when i swap clutches.

+1 i have the same clutch and love it.
this. it delays the engagement of the clutch momentarily. when removed the engagement is more natural.
