its an '88 conquest tsi, owned by a ricer, but its right down the street. he wants $3k but im sure i can get him to go lower. anyway is that a good car? i dont want too many mods, i wanna make a track car. right now just thinking momo steering wheel, racing seat, autopower roll bar, and harness. when im done with school and have time for actual racing, i can sell it and get the spec e30 i want.

Isnt that a Chrysler?
Conquest = Starion

They are not terrible, if you just want a turbo RWD with minimal electronics etc.
i like the car, but a motor with that many mods scares me. i dont know...
You are never gonna be hhapy
Ii thought it was Mitsubishit not shitsubishi lol

Has a decent history for motorsports.

I believe i saw a E30 M3 track car on ebay a couple days ago. Gutted, caged, coil overs, slicks, motor was built. $7500, go search for it thats a steal.
decided against the car, i want an e30 but there hard to find. i had a mk I mr2 and loved it, might look for another one.
You wouldn't have liked it, Bradze. Starions can be really fun, but they take a lot of modding to get them to the level you'd appreciate.
turbos are so tempting, i wanna stay away but its hard to resist. need a track car so i can quit putting money into my lesbaru to make it cool, for a 170hp grocery getter.

ya, people recognize me here. like 2 people modify their outbacks, there isn't much to talk about on subaruoutback.org
A Physicist and a Biologist had a relationship

but there was no Chemistry.
Funny you mention this just say this article today about how desired starion/conquests are

Why do you think your thread on that other site blew up? I mean spraying some trim pieces over there is considered radical.

Most don't buy an OB wagon to mod, they use it to haul kids and groceries and get good MPG's. You are only going to take a family truckster so far with mods. Besides why bother with a wimpy 4 banger and CVT?? What are you wanting to mod it into?

If you like to mod you should have gotten the WRX wagon. At least you have a buildable platform. Most people that own an Outback are over 50 or 60 years old.

This should get you started on a good STARION build.

i dont want to mod. i just wanna make the car not so dorky looking, handle better, and be comfortable and perfect for my everyday use. every day the dog rides in the back, its perfect for taking the baby, rides very comfortable with my family, i couldn't imagine a better family car for $25k.
well yeah, the car would be perfect for someone who's into the whole import scene or whatever, i want a cheap car to take to the track, just gotta keep hoping a manual e30 will pop up for $2k or less

A 24yr old Mitsubishi is not going to be a "cheap car to take to the track"

That said, bunch of friends took a $500 total, modded Starion out for 24hrs of Lemons a couple years ago, with a 1G DSM turbo and upped boost and did pretty well.

Of course in that race, you don't really care about the car lasting more then just those 24hrs...

Damn that looks like fun... I wish there was a real track close to me, it'd be awesome to make a cheap 1g racecar
