yeah but the price difference is big compared to a used one...
budget's tight...
---It's been raining here and with all the grease coming out
I know some water and dirt went in too. In case that happened
can I just clean the inside and replace the boot? what cleaning material
should I use?

For a CV joint, you are taking your chances with buying used. There's a reason why that guy is selling his CV joints on his 08 evo, and its probably cause they had an issue.

If you're worried about dirt/debris within your bearings, then yeah.. replace that shit. You could attempt to clean it out with a dry clean rag, but its hit or miss.

As far as rain, i doubt any water got in there. The grease mess you are seeing is the result of a tiny tear in the boot, and it spins fucking fast so of course it flung grease all over the place. It looks worse than it is. If it was a large tear, then rocks would have gotten in there, ruined your cv joint/bearings by now and it would be fucked.
