I have made a thread like this before and I am trying reaaallllyyy hard to keep an open mind but since I have gotten my X .. I have heard endless retardation from owners of Le High And Might BMW, La Prestige Mercedezzz and the Incredibly Expensive Audi.

I am done with the playing stupid and keeping my mouth shut. Yesterday I was at a service call at a Shopping Mall (I am in the Elevator Business) anyways.. I come out to grab my Cell Phone in my car and some dude in an old Mercedes 300e (not sure but it was an older model).. parks near me, locks his car .. looks at my car and laughs. WTF? I asked him whats so funny (not aggressively) and he replied with "Your Spoiler is a bit big for that car" I replied with "its a trademark of the EVO's." And he said "I think only really fast cars should have big spoilers" .. oh motherf*****, I bit my tongue soo hard. If I wasn't on a service call I would of ripped this dudes old benz apart.

Next situation .. not even a week ago, I made the decision of complimenting an old mans Audi (it was a nice audi .. I think it was an a5 ?). Anywho.. I was at his house fixing his elevator (has an elevator in his house cause his wife can't bend her knees). Anyways.. he tells me that he just can't buy cheap cars like Corolla's, Civics and what not. And he mentioned "Mitsubishi Lancers with Big Spoilers" are for young guys who pretend like they are fast (note that I had the service car that day so he didn't see my car, I probably shouldn't of asked him what he thought about Mitsubishi but I find it interesting to see peoples opinions).

It seems like every person I have the unfortunate pleasure to talk to or run into seems to be so arrogant and fixated on price tags that the idea of a car like ours.. is so alienated that we are of the "highschool ricer community that can't afford a real car." Now this pisses me off cause many people who can afford these cars can afford a lot more expensive cars. I don't know if its that I am insecure and care what people think but it really gets to me when I see all of these people looking down at my Car.

Sorry about this thread, I just needed to Rant about this shit.. thought this would be the best place to do it.

lol that sucks, I guess I have been very lucky with mine. Even a dude in a Bentley and a RR have giving me the thumbs up and talked to me about my car. What helps I guess is being modded and not having a gigantopithecus of a spoiler (no offense, I have a lip spoiler and I love it and I do understand the gsr or mr spoiler is actually useful, I have read the mitsu engineering report on the downforce which I do not have by having a lip spoiler but I love the lip spoilers over anything sorry).

I get that sometimes too, but I actually find it amusing. When someone looks down on the Evo it only shows their own ignorance. It also makes it easy to tell who are real car enthusiasts.

Edit: If you want to enlighten them, offer to take them for a ride. I'm sure their attitude would change quite quickly.

Who cares? Most people don't know shit about cars. I do well enough to get any car I want within reason, but I love my loud, obnoxious, big spoilered rice mobile over any other option.

A guy has flipped me off for passing him at sebring in the rain(I swear I wasn't doing anything wrong just passing his miata).

I had a damn pick up tell me if his kids weren't in the car he'd take my X(some shitty old truck), like wtf? I'd take his truck starting in 2nd gear.

A guy in an rs5 was trying to be a dick and mess with me, then realized my X is faster than his imported car. 90k not well spent lol, looked sexy af though.

most guys with evo's (us) think that hondas with big wings and unpainted body kits, etc are ricers.

older people with money and no taste think just about any car made in japan with a 4 cylinder engine is rice.

dont let it bother you. most people who have alot of money dont really know anything about cars besides "its expensive, and everyone knows its expensive, so i want it, becuase it will show people i have money"

just like guys that buy used entry level bmw's and benz's because of the name and other people who buy them because they think that everyone else will think that they're a baller.

But you know what the difference between you and them is? When you get in your car and drive away, no matter how pissed you were, you'll get a huge smile on your face :godance:. Don't question the mysteries of the evo, just appreciate it

Forget it. Its not worth the time or effort. What matters is YOU bought an awesome car and YOU enjoy it. PERIOD. Anyone laughing it off is pretty much an uneducated fool.

Let them live in their magical worlds and laugh at them, like really loud. I did that once with a colleague of mine, totally caught him off-guard. He went and researched about the car and is now smitten by the evo.

Don't waste your time stressing about OTHER people's opinions and preferences. I love my EVO because it brings a smile to my face and I look forward to my commute every day! It has been my favorite car to own/drive (previously owned AUDI S4, Honda S2k, Nissan 350z (twin turbo), Nissan s14 sr20, BMW 3 series).

Obviously you saw value in the EVO X when you picked it out. Have pride in what you own and your decisions!
