I just got a phone call from my dealer, they informed me that the MR wont make its way to the states until july 11th!!!! Naturally, I asked the big question..." WHY?!?!?!" and they responded with, "There is a delay because mitsubishi Japan found a glitch in the SST at high speeds and is resolving this before they send out the cars to the states." I was also told that Mistu might relabel the 08 MRs to 09 so we don't lose value. :slaphead:

Yea, they sounded like they knew what they were talking about. JULY 11th, the (new car manager) said, and then a tear came to my eye... kinda like when you litter around a native american.

I think that those that want the MR will wait for the MR and will appreciate the MR. But having to wait is good comeuppance to those that have seen fit to denigrate the GSR!

My sales kept on saying that it will come by the end of this month. I think the only reason they think that is because when the GSR arrived; it was around the same week as the Toronto auto show when they announced the Evo. So following this same pattern, the Evo X will become official in Vancouver, at the Vancouver auto show at the end of this month.

I am going to call them when I am free if they can get the VIN on my car, but once again, highly doubtful lol

i had a feeling mitsu would pull something like this right when the initial release date for the MR was near.

i still have hope though, some how, some way the MR will be released in April.

All the proof I have is a phone call from the "new cars manager" at maplewood mitsubishi. He said what he said.... he told me he was informed by mitsubishi japan that the MR wouldn't be arriving until July 11th...
I didn't bother to interrogate him too much... i didn't ask him to "PROVE IT!!!" ... i don't think this is a rumor, he said it came straight from mistu corporate... and this is probably the only thread with an EXACT date.

Haha, Sorry! I drive an audi right now so the audi dealership is burned into my mind. The mistu dealer and the audi dealer are righhhht next to each other as well. I meant maplewood mitsubishi!!!!

We dont have alot of choice here in Minneosta. I have'nt deal with Maplewood much cause i live on the south side of town. We only have 3 Mitsu Dealer In the twin city area.

Brookdale Mitsu allways seem to give me the best deal. Even back when the Evo-8 1st came out, everyone was a rip off, with 2k+ over msrp. But Brookdale sold me the 1st EVO-8 for 1k under MSRP.Plus gave me the Pit pass program for free. Then a EVO-9 For 2k Under invoice. Now the EVO-X for 1k Under msrp.

Metro Mitsu I try to stay away from, But that was the place that let me order a PB pearl. So i was willing to pay Msrp. For the Black.

Maplewood quoted me 35grand for my PB MR, it was the last color available. I preordered it 3 months ago and they told me the car would be here at the end of march. They seem to be pretty good guys over there, they are telling me they will make sure that at a minimum they will take away the depreciated value of the car when it arrives, so I can't complain.

Then in early December I got a port delivery date of Feb 21. In late December I started hearing (reading) rumors about MR delays, called the dealership several times, they researched all the way up to corporate and I was told... "Nope, still on time for Feb. 21" So I sold my M3 in preparation.

At the end of Jan., got a call from the dealership that the delivery date had been moved to March 12. I thought... Ok... that's not too far, I can wait. And finally, in the first week of Feb. I was calling the dealer to double check and the date had moved to May 12!!!

That's when I threw in the towel and went for the GSR. With all the trans "issues", it's possible inability to handle more power and being a first generation, I decided it might be best to wait. It took BMW 3 gens to really get the SMG to an acceptable state.

I said before, MR is starting to stand for "Maybe Released" when it comes to the X. It could be tomorrow or next year. No one can get a straight answer (especially dealers).

I will wait it out, I take comfort in the warranty to keep my tranny in working condition. Hopefully there wont be any issues with this "miracle" tranny. It has been done before by mitsu's competitors so maybe they will have had enough time studying everyone else's flaws to get almost all theirs out. "i can be optimistic can't I?"
I'm sooo glad the dealer called me, otherwise I was going to put the audi up on autotrader and would have had the same problem as you. I'm waiting this sucka out!
