I recently had a set of custom Evo X pistons made for me and when they turned up they were wrong. Who can spot the problem?

Hopefully they are getting sent back this week and a quick turn around for some replacements will occur :D

Are the valve reliefs on the wrong side of the piston?

Correct, the narrow skirt side should have the exhaust valve reliefs, the wide skirt side should have the inlet valve (large) reliefs ;)

The offset on the pin is also incorrect (wrong side), its been machined more like a 4G63 piston than an Evo X piston :eek:mg:

You said they were custom made. Are we sharing who made them, or are we keeping it on the politically correct side of not inferring a mistake was made? I didn't know if you were having them made from your design and they just had the paper upside down. ;)

I just started my education into piston design and have to say that I have a lot to learn.

It would be hard to tell with the pattern in a picture. It can be the draw path of the CNC machine and not effect the actual surface.

I only say that because I have a piston in my hand that does the same thing in different patterns. None of it seems to affect the actual surface.
