Ok, I have a buddy that runs a local machine shop here that I have talked to and he is willing to do some of the Evo X Undertrays. It is like the ones avail online but way cheaper. Thiers is $375. His will be a very considerable amount less. They will be made out of aluminum also.

Im thinking that all said and done, His will be around that $200-250 range. He would like to know interest before he goes and cuts a bunch of these things out.

Nice, knockoff of an aluminum panel? Sorry but nowhere does this other company have a patent on the design that Mitsubishi came up with. I can stamp a logo into it if need be. LOL.

figured that there might be some interest if it could save a person or 2 some cash. I dont really care either way. I am getting one for my car and I can put that money towards other things.

No they do not, but taking someone else's design that they came up with and creating a cheaper product of your own to sell at a lower price would be considered a knockoff, unless your design was different in some way.

It will look similar to this with a little different venting.

Picture removed.

Funny part of it is to come up with their design, they had to copy Mitsubishi's correct? So, in essence, isnt this other company's product a knockoff also?

Like i said, I dont care either way. I was just trying to extend a cheaper alternative to the community and have just as good of a product. I know I will be buying one or 2 just because. I actually drive, auto x, rally x, snow x my car so I dont want to spend a fortune on a panel that in the end will be all beat up after a summer/season of driving.

Way too many bolts to have to unscrew.
They are clips that hold it in place. The only screws that you have to remove are those on the access panel for the oil filter.

Okay, now you're just being ignorant. By that theory, every single thing in this world that isn't original is a knockoff, and you and I both know thats not the case.

The stock mitsubishi under tray is shit, with 50 cheesy ass plastic clips that break, no real protection from road debris, and consists of 5-6 different pieces. Saying that the SSP aluminum one piece under tray is a knockoff of the stock unit is like saying an apple is an orange.

No, you saying that a design of this type, mind you; one that a 3rd grader could generate is a reason to get all up in arms about because it doesnt have a brand name on it. So I guess those guys who fab their own parts are doing it wrong because they didnt buy a logo or brand name?

So going ahead, is there any legitimate people who would be interested in this type of part?

This has nothing to do with brand name, you simply said this:

"It is like the ones avail online but way cheaper."

That screams knockoff. However, had you said it was going to be like the (only) one available online, but feature more venting, a different oil drain section, have quick disconnect fittings, and be (xx.x) lbs lighter, it would have come across that you were actually putting some thought into it.
